sky skin

Dyed with onion and avocado skins collected between 2019-2022, this piece consists of a Japanese quince branch found on the streets of Brooklyn, NY and scrap fabric from Philadelphia. It is an active attempt at bridging a physical gap during my life, when I moved from New York to Philadelphia, through small, simple piecing that in turn capture the ephemeral yet constant presence of the sky.
sky skin was exhibited during Asian Arts Initiative's August 2023 show, The Body You Want.
